{"id":53113,"date":"2025-04-09T11:54:33","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T09:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/?p=53113"},"modified":"2025-04-09T11:54:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T09:54:35","slug":"local-dancers-excel-in-serbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/local-dancers-excel-in-serbia\/","title":{"rendered":"Local dancers excel in Serbia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students from Leanka Laubscher School of Dance in Sherwood recently qualified at the Talent Africa Nationals\/Euro Dance \u2013 South Africa competition, and represented their country internationally as performers in Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They travelled to Serbia with the South African Performing Arts team in March to participate in the &#8216;Dance Fest \u2013 Novi Sad&#8217;. The event was hosted in SPENS Novi Sad Arena and over 20 countries with 5000 dancers competing.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dance Fest Novi Sad is one of the leading, renowned international dance competitions that connects dance enthusiasts, dancers, trainers, choreographers, and world-class experts coming from this area.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of this festival is to create an atmosphere to promote young talents and authors, exchange ideas, and support dance artists as well as dance art.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Their results are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Tannah Collins &#8211; MTV Dance Style [solo] &#8211; first place\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Tannah Collins &#8211; Musical Dance Style [solo] &#8211; second place\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Leanka Laubscher \u2013 Jazz Dance Style [solo] \u2013 first place\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Leanka Laubscher \u2013 MTV Dance Style [solo] \u2013 first place\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Leanka Laubscher \u2013 Musical Dance Style [solo] \u2013 first place<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/7_11494.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Tannah Collins (back) and Leanka Laubscher (front).
