A taxi driver (44) was shot and killed yesterday, March 31, at the taxi rank next to Brister House, Govan Mbeki Avenue, Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, at about 16:45, SAPS Humewood police were alerted about the shooting incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beetge reported: “It is alleged that the taxi driver was in his minibus taxi when he was approached by two unknown masked male suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“One of the suspects fired several shots at him with a firearm, and the victim was wounded several times in his upper body.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the suspects fled the scene on foot afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“A murder case was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Humewood.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
