Two local learners, Ivan van Staden of Nico Malan High School and Uviwe Ntsali of Morningside High School, recently finished first and second respectively in the regional round of the National High Schools\u2019 Quiz, hosted on campus by The IIE\u2019s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will compete in the national grand finale on October 14 at The IIE\u2019s Varsity College Waterfall, against Grade 9 to 11 learners from around the country, for the R10 000 cash prize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The last two years of this particular competition saw the winners emerge from the Eastern Cape \u2013 Nico Malan High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt will be my first time visiting Johannesburg, and only my second time flying, so I\u2019m very excited to compete against the best and sharpest quiz students in South Africa. It\u2019s also a great opportunity to measure my intelligence against the best in the country. I am privileged to be representing the Eastern Cape as well as my school. I\u2019m looking forward to making it a hat-trick of wins,\u201d said Van Staden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
