GQEBERHA<\/strong> – Police in Swartkops has appealed to the public for assistance following a double murder in Wells Estate, Gqeberha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said the incident occurred on Thursday, 9 April, at about 17:00, when officers responded to a shooting complaint at a residence in Cikolo Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUpon arrival, officers found a white VW Polo TSI parked in the street, with both front doors and the left rear door open,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA man, aged 30, was found lying in the passenger seat with multiple gunshot wounds. An elderly woman, aged 65, who was seated in a wheelchair beside the front passenger seat, had also sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were declared deceased at the scene,\u201d said Janse Van Rensburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the motive for the attack remains unknown and no arrests have been made at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe names of the deceased will be released once formal identification has been completed,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A case of double murder has been opened and investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
