{"id":296705,"date":"2026-03-03T14:27:59","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T12:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/?p=296705"},"modified":"2026-03-03T14:45:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T12:45:00","slug":"tracy-brown-murder-case-remanded-as-forensic-tests-continue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/tracy-brown-murder-case-remanded-as-forensic-tests-continue\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracy Brown murder case remanded as forensic tests continue"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>GQEBERHA &#8211; <\/strong>Cell phone analysis, DNA tests, and fingerprint tests are still outstanding in the murder case of Gqeberha <a href=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/npa-official-family-shot-at-outside-kariega-home-in-alleged-assassination-attempt\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/peexpress\/npa-official-family-shot-at-outside-kariega-home-in-alleged-assassination-attempt\/\">Public Prosecutor Tracy Brown<\/a>, who was brutally killed near her home in July 2025, the Gqeberha Magistrate&#8217;s Court heard on 3 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gqeberha mother was shot on 31 July in front of her partner at her Young Park home after the suspects allegedly followed her home from the New Brighton Magistrate&#8217;s Court, where she worked at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simthembile Xungu was arrested in August 2025, while Ayabulela Busakwe was arrested in early September 2025. The affidavit of Warrant Officer Shane Bosch, the Hawks investigating officer, suggests more arrests may be imminent as authorities work to dismantle what appears to be a criminal network spanning from Gqeberha&#8217;s streets into correctional facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The matter was remanded to 8 April.
