He defeated his older brother Spidey (25) at the qualifiers on Saturday, February 7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a heated sibling showdown, it was Beasty who emerged triumphant for the second time and secured his spot in the national finals at Shark Rock Pier in Summerstrand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Red Bull Dance Your Style is South Africa&#8217;s premier freestyle dance competition that celebrates individual expression and creativity. The no-choreography, no-rules format allows dancers to showcase their unique style across multiple rounds, with competitors battling one-on-one in front of energetic crowds and expert judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-videopress\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\" style=\"max-width:303px;margin:auto\">\n<iframe title=\"VideoPress Video Player\" aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='418' height='750' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/l6szdqhf?cover=1&amp;preloadContent=metadata&amp;useAverageColor=1&amp;hd=0' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen data-resize-to-parent=\"true\" allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script src='https:\/\/v0.wordpress.com\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js?m=1770107250'><\/script>\n<\/div><figcaption><strong>Mason &#8216;Beasty&#8217; Booysen showcases his signature moves during the Red Bull Dance Your Style qualifier at Shark Rock Pier.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The matriculant from Chatty Secondary School said: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t come into today&#8217;s competition expecting a win, so I&#8217;m very proud of myself and honoured to represent Gqeberha at the national finals. I really enjoyed today&#8217;s competition, even though I was a bit nervous to go up against my older brother Spidey in the final round.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beasty&#8217;s brother Spidey expressed that the final round was a tough one, given that he and Beasty train together and know each other&#8217;s strengths. &#8220;The second round in the finals was my favourite. Beasty surprised me with moves I have never seen him do before,&#8221; commented the dancer from Deja Dance Space in Cleary Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going into the national finals in Bloemfontein, Beasty will be putting in more training, focusing on his creativity, musicality and breathing to become a stronger competitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to the Express, Mason noted that although dancing is a priority, school still comes first.
