GQEBERHA <\/strong>– The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) Fire and Emergency Department has issued a warning following the re-ignition of a wildfire<\/a> along the N2 near Van Stadens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the municipality, the fire, which was brought under control on Monday<\/a>, re-ignited due to strong winds and is spreading towards the Van Stadens area. The fire has been described as posing a significant threat, with residents urged to remain alert, exercise caution, and avoid the affected area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire and Emergency Services have mobilised four firefighting vehicles to respond to the incident. Firefighting teams are currently working to contain the blaze and protect nearby communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The municipality said strong winds are complicating firefighting efforts, but operations are focused on preventing the fire from spreading further. Affected areas are being closely monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents have been urged to report any signs of fire, flare-ups, or suspicious activity immediately as conditions remain volatile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This response forms part of the municipality’s broader fire risk mitigation and public safety efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
