GQEBERHA – <\/strong>The murder trial of Nelson Mandela Bay businessman Arnold Terblanche has been pushed from this year to 2026, now scheduled for the High Court from 9 March 2026 to 27 March 2026. This was due to a lack of judges being allocated to criminal court roles in the Gqeberha High Court this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terblanche is accused of conspiring to murder his wife, Vicki Terblanche, in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously reported by the Express, Vicki’s murder happened on 18 October 2021, where she was found buried in a shallow grave in Greenbushes, Gqeberha, after being given an overdose of drugs and suffocated. Terblanche’s co-accused has been [sentence incomplete].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Vicki’s boyfriend at the time of the murder, Reinhardt Leach, was sentenced to an effective 25 years’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to his involvement in Vicki’s murder. He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, defeating the ends of justice, and possession of drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding Terblanche’s matter, speaking to the Express, Terblanche’s legal representative, Alwyn Griebenow, stated that there has been an application placed before the state requesting that some of Terblanche’s bail conditions be relaxed. He is currently on R1 million bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Griebenow added that the state would have no opposition regarding that application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
