POTCHEFSTROOM <\/strong>– The SAPS in Potchefstroom have verified the content of a post circulating on social media regarding the electrocution of a resident at the abandoned railway station in the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post, which was allegedly signed by former MP Juanita Terblanche, reads: “Please avoid the burnt-down Transnet railway station completely. With year-end functions, many want to take photos there, but it is extremely dangerous. Yesterday, we tragically lost another life due to live electrical cables at the site.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the province confirms that an inquest docket has been registered at Potchefstroom Police Station for investigation after a 19-year-old male was electrocuted yesterday, 24 September, at the local railway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mokgwabone added: “The victim was with a female companion when the incident occurred. No foul play is suspected at this stage, and the investigation into the matter continues.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
