The Face of the Bay organisation continues to demonstrate that beauty extends far beyond the stage, with recent community outreach initiatives touching the lives of vulnerable residents at local care facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organisation recently conducted an uplifting visit to the Malabar Old Age Home in Gqeberha, providing personalised grooming services, including hair washes, blow-dries and nail care to residents. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candice Heynes, Brand Ambassador and Owner of The Face of the Bay organisation, said that the day was filled with compassion as the team emphasised the inherent value and dignity of each resident.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The visit was characterised by an atmosphere of joy, music and communal celebration, with residents enjoying tea, cake, and the pleasure of being honoured,” said Heynes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the day’s impact, the Supreme Dream Team, known as Metamorphosis Foundation, created a vibrant mural alongside renowned artist Muneeb Wassin. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Face of the Bay team also presented the home with a symbolic urn, sponsored by Mervyn Smith from Brake and Clutch Hydrologic Solutions. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This poignant experience served as a reminder of the importance of dignity, compassion and community engagement,” said Heynes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Charmel Bush, a Face of the Bay contestant, has dedicated the month of August to Inn Safe Hands Children’s Home in Gqeberha, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every Friday afternoon, Bush spends time with young girls at the home, hosting her “Strong Girls, Brave Futures” series, an uplifting mentorship programme focusing on building confidence, self-worth and vision for the future. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday mornings see her return to lead fun fitness sessions with all the children.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond her presence, Bush successfully raised cash donations to assist with the home’s monthly costs and partnered with local businesses to secure 40 litres of paint, along with labour for painting and roof repairs.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Inn Safe Hands is more than a home; it’s a sanctuary. Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and proud of where they live. To me, this is more than charity \u2014 it’s a calling,” said Bush.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Management and staff at Inn Safe Hands have praised Bush’s dedication. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claire Hermanus thanked Bush for her assistance.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Charmel is really doing a great job. Her coaching makes an impact on the kids and housemothers. It has been beautiful to witness the transformation,” said Hermanus.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juanita Windvogel added, “We at Inn Safe Hands are grateful for the time and energy Charmel from Face of the Bay put aside for us. She is an inspiration, and a lot of girls look up to her.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bush’s message to the children reflects the broader mission of The Face of the Bay organisation: “If I can leave one message with these children, it’s that they are strong, their dreams are valid, and their future is filled with possibility.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Face of the Bay competition continues, these initiatives showcase how the organisation is redefining beauty pageants by emphasising service, compassion and meaningful community impact.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
