Can the u\/18 rugby team of Framesby make it four victories in a row against Grey High?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the big question which will be answered on Saturday in Gqeberha when the local interschool clashes resume. The chances are above average that we will see another thrilling contest between these two sides.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022, Framesby managed to beat Grey for the first time since 2011. It was a real nail biter with the final score 14-10. It was more of the same in 2023. Framesby won this humdinger 17-15.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year it was yet again a close call when Framesby made it an unprecedented third victory in a row over Grey. Again the winning margin was a mere two points with Framesby, playing at home, sealing the deal 19-17.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grey will have home advantage this time and will be confident and ready to turn the tables on Framesby. Both teams have been blowing hot and cold this year but have the players to produce an entertaining affair.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are exciting backline players on both sides. Ciaran Killian, Bradley Myburgh, Tristan Kemp and Meyer Prinsloo will test the Framesby defence. Jaiden Brewis, Damian Witbooi and Cole Hipert are dangerous attackers in the Framesby side who don’t need a second invitation to visit the try line.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pearson has a tough assignment but will have home advantage when they host Graeme College, who make the trip from Makhanda.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Graeme College backline players, Luke Doyle (scrumhalf), Erin Nelson (centre) and Lucritia Magau (wing), had a very good Craven Week for Eastern Province (EP).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nelson and Magau were in the SA Schools A team who played against the SA Schools team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, last week.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SA Schools won 49-14. Nelson and Magau didn’t get many opportunities to show what they can do on attack. They will be keen to test the Pearson defenders.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together with Doyle, they can make it a difficult afternoon for Pearson, but the home side are capable of producing a big team effort that can topple the best of teams.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As usual the mercurial flyhalf, Denilo Jordaan, will be a key player for Pearson.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DF Malherbe makes the trip from Gqeberha to take on Nico Malan in Humansdorp. Nico Malan is having a decent season and will be favourite to win this one.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the school holidays and the various national youth weeks around the country, local school rugby fans will be eager to go and support their respective teams. The EP players would have learnt a lot at the various weeks and will be key players for their sides.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
