THE Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality recently presented certificates of appreciation to the South African Police Services (SAPS) at City Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Executive Mayor, Councillor Gary van Niekerk (Deputy Mayor), extended his gratitude to SAPS, recognising their dedication to safeguarding municipal artisans and officials who provide essential services to local communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those in attendance were Councillor Stag Mitchelle, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security, SAPS senior management, and the NMBM Rapid Response Task Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonel Marlize Dippenaar of SAPS expressed appreciation for this gesture, noting that initiatives like these serve as motivation for law enforcement officers to deliver their best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRecognition from the community and its leaders is a powerful motivator for our officers,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In line with their commitment to ensuring safe communities, especially during the festive season, The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nomthetheleli Mene, recently launched the Annual Provincial Safer Festive Season Operations under the theme, \u201cCombating crime through decisive Police action and robust community involvement.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Explaining this, Mene said, \u201cThis initiative aims to guarantee that SAPS, together with external stakeholders, will continue to embark on high-density operations, stop and searches, roadblocks, tracing of wanted suspects, and non-compliance inspections of liquor outlets to ensure safety for all during the festive season and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
