The 43rd annual Nestl\u00e9 Nespray South African Mathematics Challenge will be getting underway soon, and they are calling on all interested primary school learners from Grade 4 to 7 to enter no later than tomorrow, Friday 28 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The challenge helps to develop future leaders across all walks of life by equipping them with problem-solving and critical thinking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2019 more than 1 000 schools took part in the challenge, which is also fun, exciting and helps to promote the importance of mathematics at primary school level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participation will result in improving a learner\u2019s mathematical knowledge and understanding of problem-solving concepts, which will result in a better learner as they progress through school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Primary schools can sign up all their learners if they show interest in maths. The challenge consists of an exam paper that is written at the respective schools who entered. There are two divisions namely junior (Grade 4-5) and senior (Grade 6-7). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The challenge will run from March till September and is divided into three rounds. Round one takes place from 9 to 13 March, and the other two rounds will take place later in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants will receive a personalised certificate of achievement. National winners per division will be awarded with gold medals, followed by national runners-up who will receive silver medals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
