Drakenstein Municipality has been inundated with
\noffers from residents to donate items for those in need. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure that safe
\ndistances are kept at all times and the lockdown laws are being obeyed, the
\nMunicipality has made arrangements that members of the public can now donate items
\nvia a drive-through system at the Fire Station in Berg River Boulevard \u2013 between
\n8:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday (weekends and public holidays excluded). The
\nofficials will collect these items from you while you remain in your vehicle.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These donations, preferably non-perishable goods, will be used at
\nthe three temporary shelters for the homeless in Drakenstein, at soup kitchens
\nand to assist local communities in need.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nExecutive Mayor of Drakenstein Municipality. \u201cIt just once again shows how
\ngenerous the hearts and spirits of the people of Drakenstein are. We are also
\nvery appreciative of the work that our non-governmental organisations are doing
\n\u2013 despite the challenges brought about by the lockdown \u2013 to take care of our
\npeople. We thank you for your compassion.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this stage, only the following items are required: h<\/span>and sanitisers, hand soaps, face masks, disposable gloves,
\ncleaning materials such as bleach, any disinfectants, washing powder, hand
\npaper towels, toiletries including sanitary pads, white A4 paper in ream packaging,
\nnon-perishable foods, long-life milk, toilet paper, roll-up mattresses, bottled
