This is the grim description of a scene to which a Wellington police officer was led on Saturday evening at 18:30 in Buccaneer Street in New Rest, Wellington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Wellington police station commander, Col Johan Barkhuizen, the dead man was later identified as Luthando \u201cThando\u201d Monqola (28), who lived in Buccaneer Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo suspects, aged 21 and 19 years old, were identified in relation to the murder and arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The circumstances that led to the brutal murder remain unknown, with no official confirmation from police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barkhuizen said only one suspect appeared in the Wellington Magistrates\u2019 Court, while the other was released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later that same evening, 22-year-old Nkonyana Luzuko was stabbed in Wellington while walking to a party with three of his friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was rushed to Paarl Hospital, where he succumbed to his knife wounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA friend of the deceased [at the hospital told police officers] they were four friends walking to a party in New Rest,\u201d Barkhuizen said. \u201cHe explained an unknown male approached them while they were walking and stabbed Luzuko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe exact location of the scene where the crime was committed has not yet been identified since the witness was unsure what the street name was.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
