{"id":64115,"date":"2022-03-13T08:39:26","date_gmt":"2022-03-13T06:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/paarlpost\/daar-is-hoop-vir-de-poort-20220309-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-19T21:57:58","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T19:57:58","slug":"daar-is-hoop-vir-de-poort-20220309-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/paarlpost\/daar-is-hoop-vir-de-poort-20220309-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Daar is hoop vir De Poort"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gaan die De Poort- historiese dorpie nog uit die as kan herrys?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit is die jare lange vraag met die mislukte Suider-Paarl- historiese ontwikkeling van De Poort nadat hierdie ontwikkeling 15 jaar n\u00e1 sy ontstaan nog net nie van die grond af kon kom nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Poort is in 2007 gebou met bystand van \u2019n R2,3 miljoen-toekenning van die nasionale Lotto-trust asook finansi\u00eble ondersteuning van die Drakenstein-munisipaliteit om \u2019n wa- en karretjiemuseum, \u2019n koffiewinkel\/restaurant en \u2019n inligtings- \/ opvoedkundige sentrum op die munisipale terrein tussen Turk- en Pinestraat op te rig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit sou fase een van \u2019n ontwikkeling wees wat op erfenistoerisme gemik was, en die doel was om dit te bou en in \u2019n volskaalse historiese dorpie te ontwikkel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar sedert die bouwerk voltooi is, staan die ??ontwikkeling by De Poort feitlik stil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tans is die enigste noemenswaardige gebruik van die terrein die jukskeibane op \u2019n verafgele\u00eb deel van die terrein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die ontwikkeling is ook deur die jare geknou deur binnegevegte tussen De Poort-direkteure en die munisipaliteit, met die verhouding tussen die twee wat in \u2019n stadium versuur het tot so \u2019n mate dat die munisipaliteit, op wie se grond De Poort staan, die hekke na De Poort gesluit het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar, daar is wel hoop. Tans is die Drakenstein-munisipaliteit vasberade om die suksesvolle herlewing\/ontwikkeling van De Poort te bewerkstellig as deel van sy volgende 15-jaar-ontwikkelingsplan, soos uiteengesit in die Visie 2032-strategie, die munisipaliteit se Strategiese Ontwikkelingsraamwerk en die Ge\u00efntegreerde Ontwikkelingsplan (Gop).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dus is \u2019n konsultasieproses tans onderweg met alle belanghebbendes met die Stedelike Ontwerpraamwerk vir De Poort en sy onmiddellike omgewing, om alle moontlikhede te ondersoek vir die ontwikkeling van die gebied, met die klem op toerisme en ontwikkeling, gemeenskapbetrokkenheid asook die finansi\u00eble haalbaarheid daarvan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit sluit in om te verseker dat die gemeenskapsbate tot ver in die toekoms selfonderhoudend kan word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die finale konsepverslag is op die Drakenstein-munisipaliteit se webwerf vir openbare deelname beskikbaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Paarl-Hamlet- stedelike ontwerpraamwerk sal spesifiek fokus op sake wat verband hou met die erfenis, die natuurlike en geboude omgewing, die landskap, die stedelike ontwerp en die stedelike eiendomsekonomie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die munisipaliteit s\u00ea die De Poort-terrein is \u2019n integrale deel van die Paarl-Hamlet-gebied en is in die middel van die gebied gele\u00eb, wat beteken die terrein bied verskeie geleenthede vir stedelike vernuwing en ontwikkeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die De Poort-terrein sal dus bykomende aandag geniet wat betref die samestelling van \u2019n sakemodel, wat die De Poort-terrein selfonderhoudend en \u2019n katalisator
