The Paarl police station is warning the public to be cautious when using the Paarl Arboretum during the early morning or late afternoon hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paarl police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis said members of the public entering the arboretum on their own are being targeted and robbed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMembers of the public are advised to make use of areas in the arboretum that are busy and also to be one or more persons together when going for a walk through the arboretum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that although patrols are done in and around the area and arrests being made, the public is still urged to be careful in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is despite the municipality\u2019s upgrades of the arboretum which include added access control and law enforcement patrols during the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
