{"id":62865,"date":"2022-04-29T06:03:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T04:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/paarlpost\/nominate-your-young-sport-star-20220426-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-19T22:26:51","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T20:26:51","slug":"nominate-your-young-sport-star-20220426-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/paarlpost\/nominate-your-young-sport-star-20220426-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Nominate your young sport star"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Good news for all talented young sports stars in the Drakenstein Valley is that <span>Paarl Post\u2019s<\/span> School Sport Star of the Year competition has kicked off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This competition runs from March to October, during which two young sport stars \u2013 one at high school and one at primary school \u2013 will be selected each month as the month\u2019s winners by our panel of judges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is open to all boys and girls that have represented their region, province or country in their respective sports codes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous winners of the competition include Olympic athlete Vuyo Manyonga and Springbok rugby star Handr\u00e9 Pollard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools, coaches, teachers, parents and clubs may nominate their stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominations with a brief motivation on why someone is nominated for this award, plus a photo, may be sent by e-mail to Lise Beyers at sport@paarlpost.co.za. Alternatively, nominations can be downloaded from our office at 1A New Street (next to the Virgin Active Gymnasium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The monthly winners will appear in <i>Paarl Post<\/i> and each will receive a gift package.
