\n Zanddrift-sportgronde: <\/b>Die stadsraad skenk oorweging daaraan om aanstaande jaar R6 000 te spandeer aan die Zanddrift-sportgronde. \u2019n Gedeelte van die gronde word gebruik deur Paarlse sokkerklub. Die sokkerveld is nagenoeg sewe jaar gelede aangel\u00ea, die kleedkamers is hopeloos ontoereikend en daar word oorweeg om die bestaande kleedkamers uit te brei. Die twee kleedkamers dien ook die twee Boy Louw-rugbyvelde wat langs die sokkerveld gele\u00eb is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op hede is die belasting slegs R1 vir \u2019n reun en R2 vir \u2019n teef-hond. Een van die boere het verklaar dat dit miskien nie so \u2019n slegte gedagte is om honde te slag vir hul velle nie. Dit sal minstens hul getalle laat daal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the latest \u201cspook\u201d story reaching here about traffic. It is reported to have been happening at a certain spot along the Hopefield-Vredenburg road by people now living in Paarl who formerly lived in the Hopefield-Vredenburg area. According to them, passing motorists have seen a man at night standing at the side of the road, with his arm lifted indicating that he wanted a lift. Nobody stops to give lifts to strangers at night but as the cars pass the man, he jumps into the moving car and when the startled motorist investigates, they find nothing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
