The Paarl police warns the public about fraudulent internet transactions that have occurred over the last few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis said one victim was defrauded of approximately R8 000 after contacting an alleged estate agent via Facebook Market Place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe assumed agent working for \u2018Western Property Management\u2019 would have assisted in the renting of a flat. However, it was a fraudulent transaction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In another incident, a loan was applied for from a company called \u201cCredit Bence Finance\u201d. \u201cAfter the victim deposited an amount into the account, the loan was never \u2018approved\u2019 and the cash amount was gone,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
