The overall strike action is as a result of lists of grievances and demands about various services and alleged management issues of CPUT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The list includes revoked private ambulance service and demands of shuttle services, lack of campus security coordination, WiFi services and many other grievances. A full investigation of allegations regarding CPUT will follow in light of the accusations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spokesperson for CPUT Lauren Kansley expressed the university\u2019s dismay about the damage caused by recent student protest action at their Wellington Campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe deployed a special task team who are trained in containing incidents like this and this resulted in three arrests. \u201cMembers of our management team will be meeting with student leaders at that campus to discuss the grievances, and we hope for a speedy resolution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that CPUT has many forums for students to liaise directly with management and, \u201cwe are saddened that protesters instead chose this route\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More action being anticipated<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fellow administrator of the Wellington Aksie Groep, Stephan Landsberg, circulated alerts of safety measures to be taken in anticipation of possible further protest allegedly planned for coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere may be uproar in Malherbe and Pentz streets by students. Residents are urged to avoid these areas in the light of further possible uproar. People who normally park their cars in the streets are advised to find alternative safe parking,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
