Last week Drakenstein Municipality received its eighth clean audit from the Auditor-General of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is one of 16 municipalities in the Western Cape that have received a clean audit for the 2021-\u201922 financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is the municipality\u2019s eighth clean audit and 15th unqualified audit opinion,\u201d said Conrad Poole, Executive Mayor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is the result of uncompromising fiscal discipline, clean governance and responsible financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are delighted to again receive a clean bill of health from the Auditor-General. This clean audit is a testament to hard work and keeping our eye on the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI want to congratulate Dr Johan Leibbrandt, our City Manager, and his management team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the municipality, it was commended by the Auditor-General for sustaining its clean audit status and improving its financial viability, despite a struggling economy and increased financial pressure on businesses, residents and municipal finances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Neighbouring municipalities that also received clean audits were the City of Cape Town, Swartland Municipality, Stellenbosch Municipality, Cape Winelands District Municipality and Theewaterskloof Municipality. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
