Following a full investigation by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit Paarl, four men were sentenced on 3 March for sexual crimes that occurred in Paarl East during October 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was confirmed by Paarl police spokesperson Captain Louise du Plessis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said her fellow police officers are overjoyed when convicted criminals get to do their time, no matter how long it takes for actual punishment and sentencing to realise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe investigation resulted in Terrence Wessels, Samuel and Matthew Scheepers receiving life sentences while Herschel Fredericks received 13 years imprisonment on respective charges of rape and sexual assault.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Du Plessis said the incident that led to these successful convictions occurred when the victim was at a party in Paarl East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
