The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) campus in Wellington was still licking its wounds after last year\u2019s destructive student protests when protests this week erupted again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And unfortunately, once again it seems as if it\u2019s just a handful of students who decided to go this violent route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Again, thousands of rands\u2019 damage has already been caused to campus property, not to mention the disruption of educational classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is every citizen\u2019s democratic right to protest against unjust actions against them, but then those claims must be completely valid and not purely fuelled by emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latest CPUT Wellington-campus protest is, again, by a handful of students who haven\u2019t been able to state their case completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most students here are just trying to go from day to day focusing on their studies, while also enjoying student life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But these \u201cprotesters\u201d are putting a damper on this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are also the students who continuously pull out the race card with self-righteous abandon and with a hand-out mentality, often bullying their fellow students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They should rather focus on their studies to create a better life for themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So one cannot help but wonder whether this is really politically fuelled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
