Another horrific death was reported in Mbekweni last Friday (2 May) when a man was found hanging from a tree in Drommedaris Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police officers attended the scene around 11:30 when responding to a complaint about a person that was hanging in a tree in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When officers arrived on scene, says spokesperson WO Nceba Vanqa, they saw man on his knees with his hands around a branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Detectives on scene identified the deceased as Sylvester Isaacs residing in the Drommedaris area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBoth hands were tied with a rope. The person was naked while several bruises were visible on his body. The deceased also showed open wounds on his right leg,\u201d Vanqa detailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vanqa said that the man was certified dead by the pathologists on the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other police sources mentioned suspicions of this being a case in which a Bundu trial, also known as a kangaroo court, might have taken place. This is where the public take justice into their own hands, often leading to violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
