She said in some instances up to R1 million was lost due to these investment schemes. Du Plessis said as the festive season is fast approaching residents must be vigilant of calls supposedly from their bank employee about fraudulent activities on their account. \u201cThey would often ask that you transfer your funds to another account or provide your banking details.
