Dit het gegroei na 120 mense, waarna besluit is om na \u2019n groter saal te skuif. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Geloftefees word vanjaar by die Wemmershoek- Voortrekkerkampterrein in die vallei tussen die Paarl en Franschhoek gehou. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elizma Smith, kultuurorganiseerder van die FAK in die suidelike streek, s\u00ea Afrikaners is versprei oor die land heen en geleenthede moet geskep word om Geloftefees te kan vier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die fees word in samewerking met die FAK, AfriForum en Kaapland Voortrekkers gehou. Hierdie naweekfees gaan \u2019n onvergeetlike ervaring wees. Op die program is onder meer die musiekblyspel <span>Die Gelofte, <\/span>wat op \u2019n groot skerm gesien kan word, \u2019n optrede van Adam Tas, kanonne wat afgevuur gaan word en nog vele meer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schalk Rabie, \u2019n wynboer van De Doorns en ook \u2019n kranige sweepversamelaar, bring sy versameling en lewer \u2019n sweepslaan-demonstrasie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die kerkdiens word gelei deur ds. C. le Roux van Stellenbosch, die feesrede word gelewer deur Pieter Burger en die voorlees van die Gelofte word deur Dan Retief behartig. Retief is \u2019n negende-geslag-nasaat van Piet Retief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie fokus moet weer geplaas word op Geloftedag, want anders raak dit net \u2019n vakansiedag om die Desembervakansie te begin,\u201d s\u00ea Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Wemmershoek Voortrekkerkampterrein is \u2019n besonderse terrein om \u2019n Geloftefees te hou. In die amfiteater, waar die Geloftediens op 16 Desember gehou gaan word, staan die Geloofsvryheidsmonument wat in 2020 deur die FAK opgerig is. Hierdie monument is met die 200-jaar-herdenking van die stigting van die Suid-Afrikaanse Bybelgenootskap in 1820 opgerig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanaf die monument kyk jy uit oor die Franschhoek-vallei aan die een kant en die Paarlvallei aan die ander kant, waar talle Franse Hugenote, wat vir geloofsvryheid uit Frankryk gevlug het, hulle in die 1600\u2019s gevestig het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die geboorteplase van die trekleier Piet Retief en die geestelike leier Sarel Cilliers, albei afstammelinge van die Franse Hugenote, is twee van die bekende plase in hierdie vallei. Op die Retief-plaas, Welvanpas, boer die negende- geslag-Retief-afstammeling vandag nog. Baie wynplase in hierdie omgewing het Franse name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die FAK is trots om deel te wees van die stigting van die nuwe Geloftefees. Die Gelofte word vanjaar die 185ste keer herdenk. Die FAK wil graag in samewerking met die Voortrekkermonument 185 000 mense kry wat die Gelofte herbevestig. Die name van die mense wat die Gelofte herbevestig, sal in \u2019n tydkapsule geplaas en op die 200-jaar-viering van die Gelofte oopgemaak word.
