The Winelands Cycle Race on 28 January is fast approaching and entries are filling up. The race will start and finish at Hugenote Primary school in Wellington and will be an excellent race to help you gear up and improve your seeding for the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be two races (102 km and 52 km) under the auspices of the Pedal Power Association, with online registration and seeding by CTCT and timing by Finish Time. The races will start in General Hertzog Boulevard and from there cyclists can travel on two routes in the rural Agter-Paarl\/Riebeek West area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first race over 102 km starts at 06:00 (entry fee is R390). It is for more experienced riders and will be a seeding race for the Cape Town Cycle Tour. The route takes riders to Hermon, Riebeek West and back to Wellington via Voor Paardeberg. The second race, over 52 km, is not a seeding race. It starts at 08:00 (entry fee R290) and is ideal for the whole family. Riders travel to Paardeberg and back to Wellington. There will be a variety of food and beverage stalls as well as medals and a bike park at the finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The closing date for on-line registration is Monday 22 January at 17:00, but late entries will be allowed online and at all number collection points provided the limit of 2 500 riders has not been reached. The proceeds of the race go to Paarl Rotary projects focusing on early childhood and youth development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Race numbers can be collected at Bicycle Garage in Paarl\u2019s Frater Square on 26 January from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday 27 January at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust office in Avenue de Mist, Rondebosch, from 09:00 to 11:30, or at Chris Willemse Cycles at Willowbridge on the same day from 13:00 to 16:00. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
