Vredenburg se eenheid vir gesinsgeweld, kinderbeskerming en seksuele misdrywe ondersoek \u2019n saak van seksuele aanranding teen die voormalige Springbok-afrigter Peter de Villiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Villiers is verlede week uit die GOOD-party geskors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy dien tans as \u2019n Wes-Kaapse parlementslid van GOOD, maar het voorheen as \u2019n raadslid in die Drakenstein-munisipaliteit opgetree nadat hy in 2021 by die party aangesluit het. Hy was ook die voormalige afrigter van die nasionale Dowes-rugbyspan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die inligting is bekendgemaak nadat GOOD op 2 Februarie \u2019n persverklaring uitgereik en verduidelik het dat die party De Villiers weens \u2019n klag van seksuele wangedrag teen hom geskors het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens lt.kol. Malcom Pojie, \u2019n woordvoerder van die provinsiale polisie wat na De Villiers verwys as \u2019n \u201cverdagte,\u201d kan geen besonderhede oor die saak bekendgemaak word nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns is nie vry om enige besonderhede van die verdagte of beskuldigde bekend te maak nie, tensy hy in die hof verskyn het en nadat hy aangekla is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn seks-verwante gevalle kan die name van \u2019n beskuldigde nie bekend gemaak word voordat die beskuldigde(s) gepleit het nie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niemand is nog in hegtenis geneem nie, het Pojie in \u2019n e-pos op 5 Februarie aan die Paarl Post <\/span>ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens die Weslander,<\/span> die susterskoerant van die Paarl Post, <\/span>het \u2019n mede-partylid die seksklag aanhangig gemaak nadat \u201c \u2019n man glo \u2019n vrou na bewering \u2019n snedige naam genoem en toe probeer soen het\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brett Herron, die sekretaris-generaal van GOOD asook \u2019n parlementslid, het in verlede Vrydag se verklaring ges\u00ea GOOD se grondwet is duidelik oor geslagsverhoudinge en geslagsgebaseerde geweld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie grondwet is van toepassing op alle lede, ongeag hul posisie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDe Villiers se skorsing is nie \u2019n skuldbevinding nie, maar dit weerspie\u00ebl die erns van die bewerings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Heron se verklaring sal die politieke party \u2019n tugproses instel om te bepaal of De Villiers GOOD se grondwet oortree het of nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy het verder ges\u00ea weens die sensitiewe aard van die bewerings sal die party voorlopig geen verdere kommentaar oor die aangeleentheid lewer nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is in hierdie stadium ook nie duidelik hoe ver die polisieondersoek gevorder is of wanneer die partye in die hof sal verskyn nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paarl Post<\/span> het op 6 Februarie na De Villiers uitgereik vir kommentaar oor die beweerde aantygings teen hom, maar teen druktyd geen antwoord ontvang nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hierdie is die tweede seksskandaal wat die GOOD-party geruk het nadat Shaun August en Felicity Klazen verlede jaar geskors is nadat aantygings teen hul gemaak is oor \u201calkohol-aangedrewe sekspartytjies\u201d tydens tussenverkiesings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
