STELLENBOSCH \u00a0\u2013<\/strong> ‘n Skokgolf het hierdie week die Dwarsrivier Vallei getref toe die lyk ‘n 41-jarige vrou in die Dwarsrivier in Pniel, gevind is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elize Faroa (41), van Lanquedoc wat vir meer as vyftien jaar by Waterford Winery gewerk het, is Saterdag laas deur haar familie gesien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens familie is Faroa Saterdag laagmiddag laas gesien toe sy, soos gewoonlik, die dorp besoek het en inkopies gedoen het. Sy het haar geliefdes \u2014 insluitend haar ma, Elizabeth Faroa (62), haar tannies en meisiekind, Antelucia Cedras (8) \u2014 by die huis gelos toe sy na haar gewone kuierplek gaan, naby die huis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sondagaand het sy deur haar dogtertjie ‘n boodskap gestuur dat sy nie huis toe kom nie en eers Maandag (die vakansiedag) terug sou wees. Dit was die laaste teken van lewe wat die familie van haar ontvang het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maandag oggend het bekommerde familielede na haar begin soek nadat sy nie opgedaag het nie. ‘n Toe die soektog geen vrug gedra het nie, het ‘n familielid ‘n foto van Elize op ‘n WhatsApp-gemeenskapsgroep geplaas. Kort daarna het die polisie met die familie kontak gemaak en die tragiese nuus aan hulle oorgedra dat Elize se liggaam gevind is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raaiselagtige omstandighede<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Die omstandighede rondom haar dood is diep verontrustend vir die familie. Verskeie vrae bly onbeantwoord:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haar tekkies (skoene) is nie aan haar voete gevind toe haar familie haar by die lykhuis uitgeken het nie. Haar baadjie is ook weg \u2014 als klere wat sy nog laas aangehad het toe die familie haar Saterdag gesien het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die plek waar haar lyk gevind is, is volgens die familie totaal onbekend vir Elize. “Sy het nie eers geweet van ‘n piekniekbos nie (dis nou in Pniel by die rivier),” het haar niggie Marisha Afrika (35) ges\u00ea. “Sy ken nie eers daai pad nie.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die familie het ‘n dringende beroep op die gemeenskap gedoen vir enige inligting wat kan help om lig te werp op haar laaste bewegings en die omstandighede rondom haar dood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die familie vra dringende antwoorde: “Almal vra \u2014 almal weet vir ‘n feit sy het nooit daai pad geloop nie. Wat soek sy daar? Waar is die baadjie? Waar is die skoene?” wou Afrika weet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sy was ‘n mense-mens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Elize laat haar dogtertjie agter, sowel as haar ma, Elizabeth Faroa (62). Haar familie en vriende beskryf haar as ‘n warm, liefdevolle mens wat altyd vir ander omgegee het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sy was ‘n mense-mens \u2014 altyd aan die glimlag,” het Afrika ges\u00ea. “Die mense skrik as hulle nou hoor van haar sterfte. Sy was nie ‘n mens wat rondbeweeg het nie \u2014 net na haar tannie en werk toe.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afrika, wat self siek was, het haar dankbaarheid uitgespreek vir Elize se onbaatsugtige sorg: “Toe ek siek was, het sy ingekom en my kinders gewas, my skottelgoed skoongemaak. As sy sien ek is nie lekker nie, vat sy my kind weg sodat ek kan rus. Sy het altyd gevra: ‘Wat kan ek vir jou doen?'”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elize het haar kind en die ander kinders in die familie bo alles liefgehad en het gereeld vir hulle snacks<\/em> en koekies gebring. “Sy het altyd ‘n hart vir ons kinders gehad \u2014 sy sal altyd vir hulle twee rand gee of ietsie vir hulle koop.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elize het vir meer as vyftien jaar by Waterford Winery gewerk en het ‘n uitstekende verhouding met haar kollegas gehad. “Hulle kon nie glo toe hulle die boodskap kry nie \u2014 is dit regtig sy?” vertel Afrika. Kollegas wat jare lank saam met haar gewerk het, is verslae oor haar skielike dood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Familie se oproep<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“Niemand kom vorendag met inligting oor die klere wat sy aangehad het nie. Die mense met wie sy laas was, s\u00ea net: ‘Sy het geloop.’ Ons weet nie wat gebeur het nie,” het ‘n hartbroke Afrika ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die polisie het bevestig dat ‘n nadoodse ondersoek gedoen word. Daar word vermoed dat sy verdrink het, wat die familie baie vreemd vind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kapt. FC Van Wyk, polisie woordvoerder bevestig die voorval: “‘n Geregtelike doodsondersoek is by Groot Drakenstein Polisiekantoor geregistreer na aanleiding van die ontdekking van die lyk van ‘n 41-jarige vrou in ‘n rivier in Pniel, op Maandag, 27 April om 10:40. ‘n Nadoodse ondersoek sal uitgevoer word om die doodsoorsaak te bepaal.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘n Troosdiens vir die gemeenskap sal m\u00f4reaand (Vrydag 1 Mei) gehou word vir die gemeenskap by die St. Giles Klipkerk in Lanquedoc en Faroa sal volgende week ter ruste gele word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
