Die opening van die Malmesbury-verbypad van R693\u2009miljoen is eergister (Dinsdag 31\u2009Maart) met groot opgewondenheid gevier nadat die bouwerk van di\u00e9 6,7\u2009km lange pad byna drie jaar gelede \u2013 in Mei 2023 \u2013 begin het. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die amptelike opening van die verbypad, wat van die\u2009\u2009Hopefield-wisselaar op die N7-snelweg tot by die aansluiting van die R45 na Wellington en die R46 na Riebeek-Kasteel strek, het gepaard gegaan met honderde glimlagte, kleurvolle balonne en groot opwinding onder elkeen wat by die massiewe projek betrokke was en dit help realiseer het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die provinsiale minister van infrastruktuur, Tertuis Simmers wat die spesiale geleentheid bygewoon het, het benadruk hoe hierdie projek 287 werksgeleent -hede geskep het, terwyl ‘n verdere 39 plaaslike ondernemings en 15 opkomende kontrakteurs ondersteun is. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Die projek sal die plaaslike ekonomie \u2013 veral die landbou-sektor in die streek \u2013 in staat stel om te groei en selfs meer werksgeleenthede te skep. Dit is waarom ons in die Wes-Kaap bou \u2013 om ekonomiese groei moontlik te maak sodat werk geskep kan word.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Wes-Kaap se premier, Alan Winde, het op sy beurt ges\u00ea hierdie projek is ‘n belegging in die provinsie se toekoms. “Elke kilometer van ‘n goedgeboude en goedonderhoude pad ontsluit geleenthede: Dit verbind gemeenskappe, ondersteun sakeondernemings en skep werk. Infrastruktuur soos hierdie is die ruggraat van ‘n groeiende ekonomie, wat die doeltreffende beweging van goedere en mense moontlik maak, koste verlaag en verdere belegging lok.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
