The two men who were arrested for the posession of illegal firearms at a residential complex in Paarl on Wednesday (28 May) abandoned their bail application in the Paarl Magistrate’s on Friday on the charges related to the illegal firearms.

Triple murder charges has since also been added to their charge sheats in connection with the killing of three men from Hawston in the Overberg on 11 May.

Luthando Ngedezi (35) and Tsepo Moahloli (39) is expected to appear in the Hermanus Magistrate’s Court on Monday (9 June) on these murder charges.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their arrests on 28 May stem from an investigation by the police’ Anti Gang Unit (AGU) who received a tip off regarding the Hawston murders that led them to a residential complex near the N1 in Paarl.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a tactical takedown an AK-47 rifle containing eight rounds, three 9 mm pistols and various rounds of ammunition was found in their posession.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paarl police Station Commander Colonel May-Louise Dyers at the time commended officers involved in the arrests and said it sent out a stern warning that crime will not be tolerated in the Paarl policing area.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duo is believed to be involved in the killing of three men in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting in the small coastal town of Hawston on 11 May.

According to the Hermanus Times<\/em>, several men jumped out of a white BMW vehicle and fired at them. Two men were declared deceased on a scene, while a third later succumbed to his wounds in hospital. They made their first appearance in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on Friday (31 May) where the case was postponed for bail application on the firearm charges to this Friday (6 June). During their bail bid on Friday the two, who is being represented by one private lawyer, incidated that they will not be applying for bail since the docket relating to the murder charges is yet to be finalised. They are due back in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on 5 August on the firearm charges.
