Die dringende aansoek van Franschhoek se La Motte Wanderers-rugbyklub<\/a> in die Kaapse hooggeregshof is Dinsdag (6 Mei) toegestaan waarin hy eis dat die klub toegelaat word om weg te breek van die Westelike Provinsie (WP)-rugbyunie en by die Boland-rugbyunie (BRU) aansluit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die BRU het op ‘n jaarvergadering op 30\u2009November verlede jaar di\u00e9 affiliasie-aansoek deur die klub aanvaar, maar die WP-rugbyunie het geweier om La Motte te laat gaan en het dit destyds duidelik gestel dat dat hulle die wegbreekpoging sal teenstaan.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinsdag se uitspraak beteken dat La Motte nou in die BRU se Gemeenskapskild-kompetisie ingesluit mag word.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paarl Post<\/em> het in Maart vanjaar berig dat La Motte in daardie stadium volgehou het dat hy nooit ‘n amptelike filiaal van die WP-rugbyunie was nie, maar bloot toegelaat is om aan WP-kompetisies deel te neem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die WP-administrasie se argument was dat die BRU nie die reg gehad het om La Motte se affiliasie-aansoek te aanvaar nie aangesien die klub binne die WP se grense val.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Motte het egter daarop gewys dat die BRU alreeds klubs soos Dennegeur en Lanquedoc All Stars asook klubs in die Drakenstein- en Stellenbosch- munisipale gebiede as lede het.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens La Motte was daar geen geldige redes, behalwe die beweerde grens-oorskryding, wat hul affiliasie met die BRU kon verhoed nie.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dennis Boonzaaier, die klub se voorsitter, het die hof se uitspraak verwelkom.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ons sien uit daarna om saam met \u2013 en teen \u2013 ons buurspanne Wemmershoek RFC en Dennegeur RFC te speel. Hulle neem reeds aan die BRU-kompetisies deel. Ons voel gerehabiliteer deur die hof se besluit en is diep verlig dat geregtigheid gese\u00ebvier het. Die bakleiery moet nou eindig en gemeenskapsport moet voorrang geniet. Ons spelers kan nou huis toe terugkeer,” s\u00ea hy in ‘n verklaring.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reginald Pheiffer, ‘n Stellenbosch-raads- lid en La Motte se sekretaris, het buite die hof ges\u00ea: “Ons is baie oorweldig met die uitspraak van die hooggeregshof. Dit was ‘n dringende aansoek vir ons klub om terug te keer na die sportveld.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ek gaan hierdie woorde stadig s\u00ea: La Motte boys <\/em>rapporteer vir oefening hierdie Donderdag. Boland moet volstaan met sy besluit wat geneem is op 30\u2009November 2024 om La Motte toe te laat om rugby in die Boland te speel.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paarl Post<\/em> kon teen druktyd nie die hof se oorspronklike uitspraak bekom nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
