Every second Sunday in December of every year, a 24-hour global virtual-lightning ceremony symbolises the compassion and support for each other for grieving the loss of a child. The Compassionate Friends, Paarl and Wellington Chapter took part in the world’s largest candle-lightning ceremony on Sunday, 10 December at Wellington Town Hall where almost 200 guest attend the event and lit a candle. Bringing grieving parents, grandparents, siblings and supporters together for mutual support and comfort is a priceless gift that cannot be duplicated in other ways. This beautiful gesture shows that although someone may be gone from this world, their memory will endure, and the light of their flame will continue to inspire and guide bereaved parents, and their families. All the speakers at the ceremony agreed that their lives are not the same anymore and that they have created a “new” normal life to live until they meet their children again. TCF wants to thank everyone who attended their Annual Candlelight Ceremony. Special thanks to all the supporters and sponsors. Please feel free to refer any bereaved parent or sibling who in need of compassionate support to TCF. Contact details for this support group are: 061 841 5020 or wellingtontcf@
