So many essential workers are putting themselves at risk during the coronavirus pandemic in our country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not many have paid any atten- tion or noticed that during the lockdown that we still had running water, uninterrupted electricity and that our rubbish bags were still collected every week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While millions of us were safe in our homes, hundreds of essential workers were willing to sacrifice their own safety and well-being in this crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are forced to risk their own health and that of their families so that many more lives can be protected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many might say it is their duty, but we should all be grateful for the sacrifices they have made to serve our communities and keep us safe and comfortable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We should be grateful for their brave efforts, whether they are taking care of patients or stocking grocery shelves or filling your car with petrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While many essential workers around the world took to striking at some point during the outbreak, South Africans stayed true to their duties while hiding their own fears and anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
