N\u00e1 jare hou \u2019n \u201ckabouter\u00addorpie\u201d steeds \u2019n inwoner van Kimberley se verbeelding aan die gang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di\u00e9 dorpie is Fanny Fouch\u00e9 (97) se groot passie en verskaf kleur aan elke dag. Elke kabouter het \u2019n naam en sy vertel graag allerhande stories oor hulle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSy het altyd die stories in \u2019n boek geskryf en ons wou dit as \u2019n kleuterboek laat publiseer,\u201d vertel Lona Krause, haar dogter wat in Milnerton in die Wes-Kaap woon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSy het nou opgehou om die stories te skryf, maar sy leef haar steeds in dit in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benewens die kabouter\u00addorpie maak Fouch\u00e9 nog self tuin. Tot onlangs het sy gereeld naaldwerk gedoen. Sy brei en hekel steeds en brei graag serpe vir \u2019n liefdadigheids\u00adorganisasie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sy is op 23 Desember 1924 in Kuruman gebore en het op \u2019n plaas in die distrik grootgeword. Sy het in Seodin skoolgegaan en daarna op \u2019n plaas naby Severn gewoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1947 is sy met Roelf Fouch\u00e9 getroud. Die egpaar het in 1977 na Kimberley verhuis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kort nadat Roelf in 1985 oorlede is, het Fouch\u00e9 in \u2019n woonstel op haar dogter Isabel Venter se erf in Royldene ingetrek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Desember, op haar 97ste verjaardag, het Fouch\u00e9 se twee oorlewende dogters, haar seun Chris van Griekwastad, twee klein\u00addogters \u00e9n agterkleinkinders die spesiale dag meegemaak. As geskenk het hulle die kabouterdorpie \u201copgradeer\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di\u00e9 dorpie kan van die straat af besigtig word. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
