Bursaries in Accounting, Food Sciences and Information Technology (IT) for the 2022-\u201923 academic years are now available at the Shoprite Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This offers students in these three fields an opportunity to further their studies, and then go on to work for the retailer. This environment of rapid innovation is particularly well suited to IT students, who thrive in an environment where complex problem-solving is the norm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shoprite was the first South African retailer to receive accreditation as a training office with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica), and accounting clerks will join a small, hands-on articles programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students can expect to receive individual attention, have a say in their rotation plan and gain exposure in many different fields, including those of buying, logistics and IT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students studying Food Sciences have an opportunity to work with the Shoprite and Checkers supermarket teams on fresh foods, product development and fresh produce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The practical experience gained through these work-back agreements is invaluable in an increasingly competitive work environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Registered university students with a 65% aggregate or higher are encouraged to apply for the group\u2019s bursary programme by visiting the bursary page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applications are open until 30 April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Retail Business Management, Pharmacy and Supply Chain bursary applications will open in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
