Geoffrey van der Merwe, woordvoerder van die Noord-Kaapse onderwys\u00addepartement, s\u00ea die voorval het op 22 Februarie gebeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie aanvallers het by die huis ingebreek terwyl die meisies geslaap het. Hulle het die meisies na \u2019n veld gesleep, waar hulle herhaaldelik verkrag en met messe gesteek is,\u201d s\u00ea Van der Merwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens hom is dit \u2019n wonderwerk dat die meisies, wat ernstig beseer en in die hospitaal is, die aanval oorleef het. Inwoners van Dithakong leef nou in vrees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zolile Monakali, LUR vir onderwys, en Nontobeko Vilakazi, LUR vir maatskaplike ontwikkeling, het hulle verlede week besoek om hul bekommernisse te bespreek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van der Merwe s\u00ea die gemeenskap is teleurgesteld in die polisie en voel die regstelsel laat hulle in die steek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie gemeenskap eis dat die oortreders onmiddellik in hegtenis geneem word. Terwyl die inwoners van Dithakong in vrees lewe, loop die skuldiges vry rond,\u201d s\u00ea Van der Merwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens die gemeenskap is dit glo nie die eerste keer dat die aanvallers toeslaan nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die departement van maatskaplike ontwikkeling het maatskaplike werkers beskikbaar gestel om die leerlinge en inwoners by te staan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die polisie in Kuruman se eenheid teen gesinsgeweld, kindermishandeling en seksuele oortredings ondersoek \u2019n saak van verkragting. Volgens kapt. Olebogeng Tawana, polisiewoordvoerder, is een verdagte in verband met die voorval in hegtenis geneem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
