Danksy milde somer- en herfsre\u00ebn vloei die Kurumanrivier vir die tweede keer in twee jaar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die andersins dro\u00eb rivierloop het in 1988 laas so sterk soos verlede jaar en nou geloop, s\u00ea William Olivier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die rivier strek vir 6 km oor sy en sy broer, Riebeeck, se plaas Grootdrink, sowat 20 km noord van Black Rock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWas dit nie so koud nie, het ons met tubes<\/span> rivier af baljaar,\u201d s\u00ea William. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie milde re\u00ebn van die afgelope weke het die rivier weer laat loop. Dit is weliswaar nie so sterk soos verlede jaar in April nie, maar darem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die rivier, wat van hul plaas in die rigting van Van Zylsrus loop, het verlede jaar tot in Junie gevloei. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDis wonderlik om die lopende rivier te h\u00ea. Toe ons die plaas in 2010 koop, was dit ses jaar voordat die droogte begin het. Nou lyk die weiding en veld weer mooi, al steel die rivier \u2019n bietjie van die weiding.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op plekke is die rivier 30 m breed en 1,5 m diep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die broers boer met 18 spesies vlaktewild. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaar nou het ons visse in die rivier en visarende wat in die bome sit en tuur. Reiers en kolganse en allerhande ander soorte watervo\u00ebls.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toe die rivier verlede jaar sterk gevloei het, het die twee gesinne aanvanklik lig geloop en versigtig geswem om nie op duwweltjies en doringtakke in die rivier te trap nie, maar dit het intussen weggespoel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2019n Wildheining wat oor die rivier span, keer hulle om die hele roete stroomaf te swem of vaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die rivier het een van hul plaaspaaie onbegaanbaar gemaak. Aangesien hulle die eienaars van die Olivier-konstruksiemaatskappy is, was dit egter nie \u2019n kwessie nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns is eintlik kontrakteurs van beroep en boer net deeltyds,\u201d s\u00ea William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns het \u2019n netjiese brug, wat oor 15 m strek, oor die rivier gebou. Ons kan met gemak daaroor ry om die hele plaas te bereik.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die brug is 1,3 m bo natuurlike grondhoogte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
