\u2019n Groep Noord-Kaapse sendelinge wat onlangs in die oorloggeteisterde Oekra\u00efne was, is Maandag (26\/07) in hegtenis geneem in \u2019n stad in Ethiopi\u00eb omdat hulle in die strate ge\u00ebvangeliseer het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrus Strauss, \u2019n sendeling van Grootdrink naby Upington, s\u00ea drie lede van hul span van Spear International is in hegtenis geneem toe hulle \u201cop en af in die strate gestap en foto\u2019s geneem het\u201d. Hulle is 11 lede in totaal. Dit kom nadat die groep, wat onderskeidelik van die Noord-Kaap, Johannesburg, Bethal in Mpumalanga en Gqeberha kom, Saterdag in die strate ge\u00ebvangeliseer het en dit tot \u2019n optog gelei het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTwee van ons pastore en een student is toe gearresteer,\u201d het Strauss Dinsdag n\u00e1 sewe uur op die bus na Addis Ababa ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die polisie het eers aangevoer die inhegtenisnemings is omdat die sendelinge nie hul paspoorte by hulle het nie, maar later het dit aan die lig gekom dat dit is omdat Strauss en sy span Saterdag in die strate die inwoners van Jesus vertel het. Volgens hom is 86% van Jimma, die grootste stad in die suidwestelike Oromia-staat, Moslems; 1% Protestantse Christene en die res ortodokse Christene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tydens die optog het van die inwoners op Strauss gespoeg maar gelukkig, het hulle nie terugbaklei nie. Sy groep het in \u2019n kerk gaan skuil met die polisie wat buite vir hulle gewag het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns kon toe met die polisie onderhandel en danksy mense se gebede het hulle ons laat gaan. Maar die wonderlike ding is 27 mense het Saterdag hul hart vir die Here gegee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sondag het Strauss-hulle ook in verskeie kerke in Jimma gepreek en volgens hom was dit waarskynlik net te veel vir die plaaslike owerhede, wat toe Maandag \u201cwraak geneem\u201d en hulle in hegtenis geneem het. Die sendelinge is n\u00e1 vier uur uit die tronk vrygelaat op voorwaarde dat hulle die Dinsdagoggend die eerste bus na Addis Ababa, wat 351,5 km van Jimma is, moet neem en nie terugkeer nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die hoofstad is glo minder streng oor geloofsake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strauss s\u00ea die polisie het hulle in Jimma die heeltyd agtervolg en dit byna onmoontlik vir hulle gemaak. Toe hulle Dinsdagoggend die gastehuis vir hul verblyf wil betaal voordat hulle vertrek, het die koste oornag opgeskiet. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns sou 900 birr per nag betaal vir twee mense, toe is dit skielik 1500 birr.\u201d Strauss s\u00ea daar is \u2019n behoefte by die kerke in Jimma dat nog sendelinge kom en hulle bedien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie belangrike ding is dat baie siele ingekom het, en ons g\u00e1\u00e1n terug Jimma toe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy s\u00ea hulle is reeds besig met beplannings om sendelinge daarheen uit te plaas.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
