Zamani Saul as Lake Zamani Saul verwys, as gesuiwerde water na die Vaalrivier wegpomp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die watermassa het sedert Maart vanjaar, nadat padherstelwerk van die departement van paaie en openbare werke weens waterskade naby Wildebeestkuil begin het, op drie ander plekke weerskante van di\u00e9 belangrike ekonomiese roete opgedam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die padoppervlak word<span> tans<\/span> teen miljoene rande met een-en-\u2019n-half meter gelig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens die departement van water en sanitasie l\u00ea die oorsaak in lekkende drink- en rioolwater pypnetwerke van die munisipaliteit wat in die Platfontein-pan opgedam het. Die watermassa is die afgelope seisoen deur bogemiddelde re\u00ebn vererger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die probleem is reeds in 2016 aangemeld toe AfriForum strafregtelike klagtes teen die munisipale bestuurder ingedien het. In 2020 het Kobus van den Berg, VF Plus-raadslid, verklarings en foto\u2019s oor die watermassa uitgereik, waarna die DA ook hul misnoe\u00eb oor die lekkende pypnetwerk openbaar gemaak het. Die EFF het die watermassa na die premier genoem en dit \u201c \u2019n ramp\u201d beskryf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van den Berg en van sy mede-partylede het in Julie die Goggapompstasie in Galeshewe besoek om oorsig te doen. Hul bevindings en videos is aan direkteure en amptenare gestuur. Volgens hom wys munisipale toetse op verskillende plekke dat die water met E. coli en soliede dele besoedel is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAl word dit gesuiwer, sal dit nooit drinkwatergehalte wees nie. Die pompstasie is teen miljoene rande opgeknap, maar baie min water word soontoe gepomp. Dit beskadig pompe wat te min water pomp. Die meeste rioolvuil in die gebied lek uit verstopte en stukkende pype en kom nie by Goggapomp uit nie. Iemand het selfs \u2019n sloot in die woongebied gegrawe sodat die rioolvuil in die veld uitvloei. Dit graviteer na die R31. Die rioolpype moet vervang en vergroot word om die probleem op te los.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boonop funksioneer net die helfte van die Homevale-rioolaanleg wat vroe\u00ebr teen miljoene rande opgeknap is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Blockquote\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_251980e4\">\n<div class=\"text\">\u201cGesuiwerde water wat na die Langleg-pan gepomp moet word, word in Kamfersdam vrygelaat. Die afgelope vier jaar het 2 168 mm geval, wat bygedra het tot water wat in panne en paaie uitgestort het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIntussen het drinkwater uit die 657 mm grootmaattoevoerpyplyn gelek, asook van die pypnetwerk by Gogga- en ander rioolpompe. Die uitstorting het in die panne versamel, ook by die R31. Ons skat die verhouding tussen re\u00ebn-, drink- en rioolwater is 50:40:10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie munisipaliteit beoog om die water as \u2019n noodmaatre\u00ebl na die Vaalrivier te pomp indien die watergehalte aanvaarbaar is. Indien daar E.coli besoedeling is, sal die water met chloor behandel word. Die koste van die beoogde planne is onbekend. Die stadsowerhede sal toestemming en \u2019n waterlisensie moet bekom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie huidige lisensie vir die Homevale-rioolaanleg kan aangepas word. Homevale is gedeeltelik funksioneel weens diefstal en vandalisme-skade aan die infrastruktuur en gedeeltelik gesuiwerde water word vrygelaat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ratau s\u00ea die departement sal die munisipaliteit geldelik bystaan vir herstelwerk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOns berei dokumente voor vir \u2019n direktief en hofbevel. Die beplanning van die vereiste werk om die oorsaaklike probleme op te los, is aan die gang. Die fokus is om die probleme met lekke en uitstortings op te los, eerder as die gevolge van die vloede aan infrastruktuur.
