\u2019n Rekeningkunde-olimpiade wat vanjaar \u2019n tweede keer aangebied is, het uitgekring om benewens leerlinge van die Vrystaat ook di\u00e9 van die Noord-Kaap in te sluit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Piet Fouch\u00e9, hoof van rekeningkunde aan die Vrystaatse departement van onderwys, s\u00ea hy wil graag volgende jaar meer provinsies by die olimpiade betrek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die eerste deel van die olimpiade vir matriekleerlinge is in Mei afgel\u00ea, waaraan sowat 2 000 leerlinge in die Vrystaat en 500 leerlinge in die Noord-Kaap deelgeneem het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uit die eerste groep is die 150 topleerlinge uit die Vrystaat en 15 topleerlinge uit die Noord-Kaap genooi na die tweede ronde, wat op 10 Augustus voltooi is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die toppresteerders is op 17 Augustus tydens \u2019n geselligheid by die Ho\u00ebrskool Jim Fouch\u00e9 in Bloemfontein beloon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driaan du Preez van Grey-kollege (sekond\u00ear) was die topleerling in die eindronde, met \u2019n telling van 145 uit 150.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In die Vrystaat was Driaan eerste, Lize Ferreira van Eunice High School tweede en Jana Strydom van die Ho\u00ebrskool Sasolburg derde. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In die Noord-Kaap was Lerato Spannenberg van die Ho\u00ebrskool Upington eerste, Derli-Ann Loss van die Ho\u00ebrskool Oranjezicht in Keimoes tweede en Aobakwe Mokgofa van die Ho\u00ebrskool St. Boniface in Kimberley derde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Suid-Afrikaanse Instituut vir Geoktrooieerde Rekenmeesters (Saica) het die prysgeld wat aan die topleerlinge in elke skooldistrik gegee is, geborg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die instituut het ook pryse \u2013 wat \u2019n skootrekenaar vir die wenner, \u2019n tablet vir die naaswenner en \u2019n kontantprys van R750 vir die derde plek insluit \u2013 in elke provinsie geborg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
