For the winner of one of the categories in the recent World Fitness Federation (WFF) provincial championship for the Free State and Northern Cape, it was the first time ever taking part and being on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lana Flynn from Petrusburg is the winner in the women\u2019s sport model category, part of the WFF championship that took place in Bloemfontein on 3 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Flynn says she did not expect to win, but is very happy that all the hard work ultimately paid off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBackstage I was tired and hungry, but once on stage I experienced energy and self-confidence,\u201d she says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She started following Hende-Mari Strydom\u2019s fitness and lifestyle change programme two and a half years ago, after three pregnancies in four years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strydom is the South African president and an international judge at the National Amateur Body-Builders\u2019 Association (NABBA) and WFF South Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By following the programme, Flynn lost a considerable amount of weight, and is managing to keep her weight down. She now has her own gymnasium at home from where she follows a routine virtually set by her coach from Pretoria. She also trains in Bloemfontein, three times a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am now hooked and aim to be better with each show,\u201d Flynn remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the championship, Riaan Sadie from De Aar won the Masters over 40 category, as well as the men\u2019s overall figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Libhongo Biko (De Aar) ended fourth in the men\u2019s sport model category and seventh in the men\u2019s denim model category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bradley Duiker (De Aar) was fourth in the men\u2019s denim model category, and placed fifth in the men\u2019s Bermuda model category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prince Rajabu (De Aar) was sixth in the men\u2019s denim model category, and third in the men\u2019s sport model category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nellie Geyser (De Aar) ended second in the women\u2019s sport model category, fifth in the Ms Glamour category, and third in the couples\u2019 line up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was a qualifier for the WFF National Championship on 15 October in KwaZulu-Natal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national event will be a qualifying event for the WFF World Championships that is set to be held in Indonesia in November. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
