Die twee dogters van wyle Dan (83) en Breggie (74) Brand, en susters van wyle Elzabie Brand (54), wat op 26 Julie 2020 in hul huis buite Hartswater ontvoer en vermoor is, het die eerste twee weke van die verhoor van die betrokke aangeklaagdes bygewoon om antwoorde te kry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heidi Taljaard van Kaapstad en Trudie de Beer van Potchef\u00adstroom s\u00ea hulle het die hofsitting bygewoon vir hul ouers en suster se onthalwe. Hulle wil sterk wees vir hul ouers, wat ook sterk mense in die lewe was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die beskuldigdes is Donald Seoleseng (21), Tshepo Visagie (36), Kgomotso Mpulwana (43) en Tsepaone Melato (20), wat deur aanklagte van moord en ontvoering in die gesig gestaar word. Hulle word ook van regsverydeling aangekla omdat hulle die lyke in Taung versteek het om die moord te verdoesel. Seoleseng word ook van ontsnapping aangekla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die staat voer aan die aangeklaagdes het die Brands van hul perseel in Mogogong in Hartswater ontvoer en vermoor. Verskeie van hul besittings en twee motors, \u2019n rooi Nissan Micra en \u2019n silwer Mazda CX 5, is ook gesteel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realeboga Manyedi (21), \u2019n staatsgetuie teen wie al die aanklagte vroe\u00ebr teruggetrek is, het heel week getuig. Visagie het hom die betrokke Sondag laatmiddag gebel en gevra om te help om bloed uit die Mazda se bagasiebak naby \u2019n nedersetting in Taung te was. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manyedi het later gehelp om Elzabie se liggaam elders in \u2019n veld onder takke te versteek, \u2019n ent weg van haar pa se lyk. Daardie nag het hulle die Nissan na \u2019n ander plek verskuif en Breggie se lyk in \u2019n grot versteek. Die polisie het die beskuldigdes later die aand op die pad in die Mazda voorgekeer en in hegtenis geneem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taljaard s\u00ea die ondersteuning van vriende en familie, asook die gemeenskap, is ongelooflik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlmal se gebede beteken vir ons baie. Om in \u2019n hof te sit en hierdie getuienis aan te hoor is iets wat ek niemand toewens nie. Dit is die laaste plek waar ek en my sussie wil wees. Maar ons is nou hier en moet dit hanteer, al is dit hoe erg en hoe swaar. Ek sukkel daarmee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEk is nie naby berusting nie; ek kan nie aanvaar wat met my ouers en suster gebeur het nie. Hulle was so \u2019n groot deel van ons lewe, ons het daagliks met mekaar gepraat. Ek mis hulle elke dag.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cOns sal op die hofbanke sit totdat ons die antwoorde het, totdat hulle skuldig bevind word.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens haar het die polisie en die aanklaer hulle op die hofprosesse voorberei. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Beer s\u00ea sy en haar suster praat daagliks met mekaar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSaam is ons sterker \u2013 ons sal saam in die hof sit om antwoorde op ons vrae te vind. Ons moet aangaan met die lewe en kan nie stilstaan nie, want dit is wat ons ouers van ons sou verwag het. Di\u00e9 gedagte hou my aan die gang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHulle was sterk mense. Dit is nie maklik nie, want die kleinste goed herinner my aan hulle, soos iemand wat \u2019n hoed dra soos my pa het. Dan besef ek ek kan hulle nie meer bel en gesels nie. Dan dink ek weer aan hul laaste ure\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daar was nog nie getuienis gelewer oor wat die Sondag\u00admiddag by die huis gebeur het nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDit is moeilik om hier te sit en na die beskuldigdes te kyk. Die mense wat ons mense na bewering weggevat het. Hoewel ons nie berading gekry het nie, beteken die ondersteuning van die familie, vriende en gemeenskap baie. In oomblikke wanneer ek dalk terneergedruk voel, sal iemand \u2019n boodskap van ondersteuning stuur. Dit is van onskatbare waarde, want hulle herinner ons ons is nie alleen nie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vroe\u00ebr in die verhoor het hul oudste broer, Danie Brand, wat 12 jaar gelede in \u2019n motorongeluk oorlede is, se kinders, Dan Brand en Monique Prinsloo, hulle in die hofsaal onderskraag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taljaard se man, Wikus, was aan haar sy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
