Paramedici in Kuruman was vir \u2018n tydperk gedurende die inperking, weens \u2018n gebrek aan kantoorgeriewe ,in hul ambulanse op die parkeerterrein van die Kuruman-hospitaal gekluister. <\/div>\n

Gemeenskapslede in die John Taolo Gaetsewe-distrik is hoogs ontevrede oor nooddienstepersoneel wat glo weens die gebrek aan \u2019n hoofkwartier uit ontoegeruste ambulanse vanaf die huis werk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wetgewing vereis dat ambulanse oor sekere basiese mediese toerusting en apparaat beskik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die ontevredenheid kom nadat die nooddienste die gebou in Kuruman waarin dit jare lank gesetel was, \u2019n paar jaar gelede vir opknappingswerk ontruim het. Personeel sou vanaf die nabygele\u00eb Kuruman-hospitaal werk totdat die gebou opgeknap is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die gebou is nooit opgeknap nie en is sedertdien deur vandale gestroop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tydens die verskuiwing is skedule-medisyne soos morfien agtergelaat. Hoewel die departement van gesondheid aanvanklik ontken het dat die medisyne aan hom behoort, het Riaan Strydom, waarnemende departementshoof, later erken die reeksnommers het bevestig dit is die departement se medisyne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die gebou word deur dwelmverslaafdes gebruik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens \u2019n ingeligte gemeenskapslid was daar n\u00e1 die verskuiwing nie bevredigende kantore en badkamer- of kombuisgeriewe vir die nooddienspersoneel by die hospitaal nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paramedici het uit hul ambulanse op die parkeerterrein gewerk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMet die inperkingstyd is van die paramedici in hul ambulanse huis toe gestuur en het hulle die hospitaal nie meer as basis gebruik nie. Daar is van paramedici verwag om met hul eie selfoon te werk, wat hulle nou weier om te doen.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u2018n Gemeenskapslid<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Die ambulans is somtyds baie ver van die toneel waarheen hulle gestuur word omdat die voertuie by personeellede se huise is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie ambulanse het ook nie meer die regeringsvereiste toerusting, apparaat en monitors nie. Sommige paramedici kan byvoorbeeld nie die vereiste protokol volg deur \u2019n pasi\u00ebnt se bloeddruk en hartklop te neem nie. Dit hou enorme gevare vir ons as pasi\u00ebnte en die paramedici in. Laasgenoemde kan hul registrasie by die Raad op Gesondheidsberoepe (HPCSA) verloor as hulle nie die vereiste protokol volg om pasi\u00ebnte te behandel nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEk verneem ook die personeel weier om meer as hul vereiste ure te werk, omdat die departement nie agterstallige oortydgeld tussen 2007 en 2018 betaal het nie, ongeag \u2019n hofbevel.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
