Two more senior managers in the South African Police Service in the Northern Cape were appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday, 1 November, Maj. Gen. Jaqu\u00e9 Raymond and Brig. Godfrey Zwane received their new epaulets and insignia at the Kimberley Gymnasium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raymond is a highly experienced senior officer in the Intelligence environment and was appointed as the provincial head of Intelligence in the Northern Cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zwane is a highly experienced detective, and was appointed as the provincial head of Commercial Crime in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Capt. Thabo Litabe of SAPS Corporate Communication, said the provincial commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lt Gen. Koliswa Otola, and the SAPS management of the Northern Cape, congratulated the two officers and wished them well in their new roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Otola, along with her counterpart, Lt Gen. Peter Jacobs, the divisional commissioner of Inspectorate, and Maj. Gen. Henri\u00ebtte de Waal, deputy provincial commissioner Corporate Services, had the pleasure of presenting Raymond and Zwane with their new ranks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Otola was announced as the Northern Cape provincial police commissioner on 1 August. Her appointment in this position was the first since Lt. Gen. Risimati Shivuri, the previous commissioner, retired in 2019. She is the third female police provincial commissioner in the Northern Cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In early October, Otola announced the appointment of several senior police officers in long overdue vacant posts in the Northern Cape. These newly appointed officers were promoted to Brigadier, effective from 1 October, in various positions and environments within the province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before presenting them with their new rank, Otola commented that the people of the province need stability and commitment, and must be served with pride and diligence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
