Several intelligence driven operations across the Northern Cape seen more than 12 drug suspects behind bars during Vala Konke operations over the past weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In these operations, members of the highway patrol, K9, crime intelligence and visible policing units at different stations followed up on information and pounced on alleged drug dealers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt Col Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, said police arrested four males for possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R26 000 in Pabalello, Upington. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Hopetown police raided a house and seized 295 mandrax tablets, as well as dagga. The drugs are worth R20 000 and a 22-year-old male was arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One male suspect was arrested in Kuruman with Tik and dagga worth R21 751 in his possession. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, members of the police arrested several others for riotous behaviour and drunkenness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several other disruptive actions were also executed and police arrested three suspects in Dani\u00eblskuil for dealing in drugs, worth almost R2 500. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In two separate incidents in Postmasburg, one suspect was arrested in Newtown and another in White City for dealing in drugs. The dagga and mandrax seized are worth R12 000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, the Kuruman stock theft unit with the assistance of members of K9, highway patrol and visible policing units, arrested a suspect with six allegedly stolen goat carcasses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was also found with 13 goat heads after 22 goats were stolen from a property in Kuruman recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kock says the police will continue unabatedly with clean-up operations to ensure the province is safe and secure during the festive season and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
