Ons kan ook nie namens die rade by Eskom hierdie aansoek rig nie,\u201d het Willie Aucamp, DA-kiesafdelingshoof vir die Kalahari, Dinsdag (31\/01) ges\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aucamp s\u00ea hoewel swak infrastruktuur en onvoldoende kapasiteit \u2019n groot rol in die dorpe se waterprobleme speel, lei die kragonderbrekings, wat beurtkrag insluit, daartoe dat die watervlak van reservoirs kritiek laag raak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDit is eenvoudig. As daar nie krag is nie, is daar nie water nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOns versoek enige oplossing om te verseker dat mense voortdurend toegang tot bruikbare water het,\u201d s\u00ea Aucamp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Februarie, gewoonlik die warmste maand van die jaar, l\u00ea voor; en met die uiterse ho\u00eb temperature wat normaalweg beleef word, asook die voortdurende risiko van brande, is \u2019n betroubare waterbron uiters noodsaaklik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToegang tot water is \u2019n basiese mensereg,\u201d beklemtoon Aucamp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intussen het AfriForum \u2019n ernstige waarskuwing aan inwoners van Kakamas gerig om nie die dorp se water te drink nie omdat dit met ho\u00eb vlakke van E.Coli-bakterie\u00eb en fekale koliform besmet is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Werner Strauss, die organisasie se distriksko\u00f6rdineerder vir die Kalahari, s\u00ea watermonsters is Donderdag (26\/01) in die dorp geneem, en by \u2019n laboratorium in Upington wat by die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Akkreditasie\u00adstelsel akkrediteer is, getoets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die toetse se uitslag, wat die volgende dag ontvang is, het bevestig dat die water in Kakamas nie vir menslike gebruik geskik is nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intussen het die Kai !Garib-munisipaliteit Maandag aangekondig dat die watersuiweringswerke van Kakamas, Keimoes en Lennertsville vir 48 uur deur Eskom van beurtkrag kwytgeskeld is sodat die reservoirs behoorlik gevul kan word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die vrywaringstydperk het Dinsdag net n\u00e1 middernag begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoewel di\u00e9 vrywaring tydelik water in die krane impliseer, is daar na bewering nie chloor by die watersuiweringsaanleg beskikbaar om die water te suiwer nie. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Te midde van Eskom se
