Two more appointments in senior ranks in the South African Police Service in the Northern Cape were announced recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maj Gen. Mmantsheke Lekhele and Brig. Sipho Kheswa were appointed in their new positions with effect from 1 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Col TC Litabe, internal communication officer, said Lekhele is the newly appointed deputy provincial commissioner for Crime Detection in the Northern Cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to her new appointment, she was the provincial head of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in the Free State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lekhele holds B-Tech degrees in Policing and Business Administration, and has attended numerous courses presented by the SAPS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kheswa, a seasoned detective in the FCS environment, was the acting provincial head of the FCS units prior to his appointment. He has a diploma in Policing and has attended various internal courses within the SAPS environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Litabe said these appointments come at a time when the province and country are grappling with the pandemic of gender-based violence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their appointments will bolster the management capacity of the province and provide stability within the organisation, Litabe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While welcoming the two managers, Lt Gen. Koliswa Otola, provincial commissioner, informed them that the best is expected from them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
