Met die verval van ander munisipale oorde soos die Rosepark- en Reitzpark-piekniekterreine, Gordonia-ontspanningsoord en Die Eiland (wat onlangs weer aan \u2019n privaat huurder verhuur is) was dit lank die enigste werkende ontspanningsoord vir inwoners en toeriste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die boot word van Olivierpark langs die Oranjerivier bedryf, \u2019n munisipale erf wat Spangenberg huur en op eie koste ontwikkel het. Hy s\u00ea ingevolge die huurkontrak is hy verbied om enige wins uit die gebruik van die erf te maak, en het die plesierboot sy inkomste verskaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die huurkontrak sou in 2018 verval. In 2015 het hy \u2019n bod ingedien om die erf te koop nadat die munisipaliteit die tender adverteer het. Nadat die Dawid Kruiper-munisipaliteit die tender aan \u2019n ander party toegeken het, het Spangenberg \u2019n suksesvolle hofaansoek daarteen gebring. Die toekenning is nietig verklaar en die betrokke tenderproses moes op hersiening geplaas word. Dit is nooit gedoen nie en Spangenberg het aanhou huur betaal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intussen het inwoners, politici en sakelui vele optogte gehou om Sakkie se Arkie te probeer red. Die bewering was dat die munisipaliteit, wat die grond aan iemand anders wil verkoop, nie inwoners se belange op die hart dra nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"InfoBlock\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_2d04af15\">\n<div class=\"heading\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">Spangenberg wil graag die besigheid red, maar dit is \u2019n uitdaging.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie boot, wat baie groot is, kan nie werklik van die water afgehaal word nie. Hoewel ek \u2019n sterk laaibrug gebou het om die boot elke drie jaar op te knap, kan dit nie van die terrein weggeneem word nie. \u2019n Mens sal bome en geboue moet afbreek en selfs lamppale verwyder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHoewel gastehuise op die oewer aangebied het dat ek die boot daar kan vasmeer, moet dit veilig wees, veral as die rivier styg. Boonop is daar nie genoeg parkering by die gastehuise nie en is die helling te steil om die boot van die wal te bereik.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hy s\u00ea sy opsies is beperk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie enigste manier om die besigheid te red is om met die munisipaliteit te onderhandel. Dit is nie asof my pleidooie en die gemeenskap se behoefte en begeerte om Sakkie se Arkie te behou, inslag vind by amptenare of ampsdraers nie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patrick Williams, munisipale woordvoerder, s\u00ea hulle het re\u00eblings getref om sekuriteitswagte op die erf te plaas sodra dit ontruim is om vandalisme te voorkom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie munisipaliteit gaan die erf weer op openbare tender vir vervreemding beskikbaar stel. Erf 15747 is vir toerisme-verwante aktiwiteite soneer. Mnr. Spangenberg het in die tydperk wat die erf aan hom verhuur is, lae huurtariewe betaal wat nie markverwant is nie. Die munisipaliteit gaan meer verdien deur die erf teen \u2019n markverwante prys te vervreem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sakkie Spangenberg van
